Lionhead Studios has stated:

No one likes to wait, but this is actually good news. Gamers want games to be good, even better than good. Most importantly in these hard financial times, players want games to be of  good value. I like that Lionhead Studios is going to take their time to make the PC version a better experience for that platform. Within reason, a little more time can go a long way to greatly improving the gameplay experience.

Lest we forget, Fable II had its issues. Peter Molynuex admitted that the game was buggy. Fable II had:

So PC gamers, do you mind waiting a little longer for a better version of Fable III, or do you just want to play it as soon as possible?

Fable III launches in the U.S. on Oct. 26 for Xbox 360 and will be available in both Standard and Limited Collector’s Edition. The release date for the PC version is pending.
