Germany’s Rosberg, who won his first world championship in a tense Abu Dhabi season-ender last Sunday, was third in the secret vote behind Red Bull’s 19-year-old Dutch sensation Max Verstappen. Red Bull’s Australian Daniel Ricciardo was fourth. Hamilton won 10 out of 21 races this season - the first time a driver has won more than seven and not ended up as champion -to Rosberg’s nine. Wolff has backed his young driver and claimed that he would not be driving for the Silver Arrows if he didn’t have championship-winning potential. For the fourth successive race in the 2019 season, Mercedes claimed a one-two finish, Valtteri Bottas securing victory ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton. The team-mates have been fighting to be Ferrari’s lead driver all year and that resulted in a collision at Interlagos, where a crash on lap 66 ended both men’s races. While there has been no confirmation from the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix organizers or F1 on the matter, Illman says the regular Aston Martin green livery of the Safety Car will be replaced by the Saudi Arabian flag colors with a white script. The design will then revert back to its original livery for the final race in Abu Dhabi.
