The meeting was held Tuesday as the social media giant’s leaders met with representatives from Free Press, the NAACP, Color of Change and the Anti-Defamation League, four of the organizations behind the “Stop Hate for Profit” boycott that launched last month. In response, non-binary software engineer Ashok Chandwaney resigned from the company, citing Facebook’s continued failure to curb hate and the spread of violent rhetoric. “I’m quitting because I can no longer stomach contributing to an organization that is profiting off hate in the US and globally,” they wrote in their resignation letter published by The Washington Post....

Following the conclusion of a class action lawsuit that was ongoing for more than five years, the Mark Zuckeberg-led social media giant has now committed to a $650 million settlement fund, with affected users given until November 23 to file a claim.
